Employment with the DA’S Office

The Collin County District Attorney requires the highest level of integrity, professionalism, competence and dedication on the part of each and every employee of the office, from the receptionist to the District Attorney. All employees are judged by this standard. The DA’s Office is always on the lookout for prospective employees who can meet this standard.

Prosecutor Positions (As of 6/1/10, we are not accepting applications at this time)

The minimum qualifications for all prosecutor positions include: (1) a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited school of law; and (2) completion of the Texas Bar Exam. Resumes for prosecutor positions should be submitted to the First Assistant. The DA’s Office schedules interviews when a position becomes available. Applicants accepted for interviews should bring a completed Collin County Job Application form and DA employment application to the interview. No resume or application for a prosecutor’s position will be accepted or acknowledged if the applicant has not completed the Texas Bar Exam.

Criminal Investigator Positions (As of 6/1/10, we are not accepting applications at this time)

Only experienced peace officers who are licensed in Texas are eligible for employment as criminal investigators. Applicants should submit a completed Collin County Job Application form to the Chief Criminal Investigator, Novaline Varner.

Operations Positions (As of 6/1/10, we are not accepting applications at this time)

Applicants for secretarial and support positions should submit a completed Collin County Job Application form to the Chief of the Operations Division, Jill Bridges.

All offers of employment are conditional, pending a successful background investigation and completion of Collin County’s pre-employment process. Additional requirements may exist depending on the position to be filled.
