Felony Trial Team 3 (219th/380th/401st District Courts)

Curtis Howard received his Bachelor of Arts from Colorado State University, his Master of Criminal Justice degree from the University of Colorado and his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law. He received his board certification in the area of criminal law in 2004.  He started as a prosecutor with the Collin County District Attorney's Office in 1997 and has worked in child abuse, specialized crimes and as a felony court chief.

Cynthia A. Walker received her Bachelor of Arts in History and Government from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996 and her law degree from Baylor University School of Law in 2000. During law school she served on the Baylor Law Review and interned at the McLennan County District Attorney's Office. Since joining the office in February of 2000, Ms. Walker has served in the felony trial division, crimes against children division, the appellate division, the misdemeanor section, and both the civil and criminal sections of the Specialized Crime Division. She has been board certified in criminal law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 2005.

Ms. JoDee Lee Neil joined the Collin County District Attorney's Office in 2005. Ms. Neil completed her undergraduate studies at Texas A & M in Corpus Chris ti . She then earned her Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University in 2004 followed by admittance into the Texas State Bar. Ms. Neil has served in the Misdemeanor Division, Special Crimes Division and the Crimes Against Children Division, where she served for 2 years. Ms. Neil is active in the Junior League of Dallas, as well as local bar organizations.

Felony Investigator Michael Bennett began his law enforcement career at the Bonham Police Department in 1979. He was later promoted to the position of lieutenant over the criminal investigations division. Investigator Bennett attended the Texoma Regional Police Academy and Grayson County Junior College and possesses a master peace officer certification. He joined the Collin County Criminal District Attorney's Office in 1996. He has attended specialized courses in fingerprint comparisons and provides expert testimony in this field when needed.

Investigator Dale Dowdy began his law enforcement career in 1997 serving with the Paris Police Department Reserve’s Unit. After attending the Texoma Regional Police Academy in 1998 and graduating as Valedictorian and recipient of the Woody Blanton Award, he served with the Denison Police Department until August 2004 at which time he joined the Collin County District Attorney’s Office. Investigator Dowdy was initially assigned to the Family Violence Unit prior to him joining his present trial team. Preceding his law enforcement career, he spent 20+ years in the private sector of retail with 12 of these years owning various businesses in an entrepreneurial capacity.

Investigator Robin Laughon joined the District Attorney's office in November, 2003. Ms. Laughon graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Southwest Texas State University in 1998. She was employed as a Supervision Officer with the Collin County Adult Probation Department for three years, where she managed a caseload of more than one hundred clients. Ms. Laughon received her peace officer certification from the Collin County Law Enforcement Academy in July, 2003, receiving the Director's Choice Award for best overall performance as a cadet.

Mrs. Lauden joined the District Attorney's Office in 2000 and has served in many capacities. Her previous experience in the business world and her strong administrative skills have enabled her to adapt to the many duties required of her within the Felony Trial Division. She works hard to perform her job in a professional manner and to maintain the high standard of excellence of the District Attorney's Office.

Mrs. Frye began working for the Collin County DA's Office in February, 2008 as a receptionist in the main courthouse. After six months, she was promoted to Intake Secretary, and then to Legal Secretary I. She is currently assigned to the Family Justice Division, Juvenile Section, and assists in the Felony Trial Division.
