The Major Crimes Unit coordinates and prosecutes major violent crime cases, assists and supports law enforcement in their investigations of these matters, and investigates and prosecutes all officer-involved shootings/use-of-force cases and custodial deaths. Other responsibilities include supporting law enforcement investigations in human trafficking cases, major drug trafficking cases, and coordinating parallel prosecutions with federal law enforcement authorities.
